SOSS #21 P is for Profanity: Swear if You Dare

Hi, and welcome to the 21st Challenge of the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!  Well since we're all grown up at 21, maybe you'll hear a few swear words out of us during this challenge.

Did you notice Edna?  She's trying to be good...but it's pretty difficult for her to hold back so that's where the duct tape comes into play.

Stella likes duct tape too...especially when she wraps it around Gus!  Gus isn't too happy, in fact he's thinking WTF!  Since he can't talk, I decided to write it for him.  I don't think it's going to help, Stella's pretty set on keeping Gus wrapped up.  A digi stamp (from Bugaboo) about duct tape deserves to be placed on a roll of duct tape.  A great gift and card together!

Make sure you visit all the other sisters and check out if they dared to swear in our Challenge #21~P is for Profanity.  You have until Friday, November 28th to link up your artwork!  Do you dare to swear?

BTW, when you spill water on your keyboard, your computer doesn't work the same.  With all caps, no delete, no return, no letter P, and who knows what else I couldn't finish my post there.  Do you know the view in iPad doesn't let you scroll down all the way and add stuff past a certain point!  I did swear, a bit.  This morning, hopeful everything dried out I turned on my computer.  It's now in Safe Boot mode and wants my password...no problem.....NOT!  The password is case sensitive...S. H. I. T.
A tad bit more profanity was used.  I won't bother sharing, I think you can guess what else was said!

Challenge #21 ends on Friday, November 29 at 11:55 pm EDT
We'd love to see what you create so link-up your project at SoSS.

You'll have a chance to win the auspicious title of Queen or Princess of Snark!
You know you want to win it!  If you're our Queen, you can be our Guest Designer!
Don't forget to visit the blogs of the all the talented Snarky Sisters and check out their awesome P is for Profanity...Swear if You Dare creations!!!

Last post as Guest Designer for Quirky Craft Challenges

Hi All!!!

It's time for a reminder post for the Quirky Craft Challenge #12  - It's a Quirky Fairy World (Recipe Challenge)

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a Guest Designer for the last four challenges at Quirky Craft Challenges!  I will miss it!  Thanks for the fantastic opportunity!

I chose Sleeping Fairy Dreama as my final fairy image!  She has been spreading her fairy dust all night and she is taking a well-deserved nap in the warm sunshine, under the Happy Sun.

These awesome digital images are from our wonderful sponsor, Crackerbox Palace!  I designed the scene and printed in on colored cardstock.  Then, I printed the images on Xpress paper.  Dreama and Happy Sun were colored with Copics and for Dreama's wings I used G00 and covered them with Crystal Stickles.  The sentiment was printed using the free font, The Blue Cabin.

I used Sun, Sentiment, and Sparkles from the Fairy Ring to complete my card!  We invite you to leave the real world and invent you own Fairy World. Build up your own enchanted world, using at least three of the following items from the fairy ring (and a fairy of course). We want to know your dreams!

I hope you enjoy my card!  Don't forget to enter in the Quirky Crafts Challenge #12-Fairies-It's a Quirky Fairy World...you still have time!  The challenge runs until midday on Saturday, June 21st - UK time or 6:00 am CDT.

SoSS Challenge #10: G is for Glitter!

Hello Everybody!

OMG!  Edna is flashing!  Whew...it's only her dress and shoes!  She's back again to help us share our dazzling new challenge over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #10 is G is for Glitter!  I think Edna should flash more often, don't you?  Lee, on the DT, is responsible for Edna and I think Lee's doing a fantastic job!  Kudos to you, Lee!

Mounting created Bloggif

Edna has attitude and so does Fayette!   Fairy Fayette seems to be saying "You're going to do it my way"!  I could use a little bit of that spunk!  The Hello Happy Dust sentiment is perfect for her!  Clouds round out the scene.  All stamps are from Crackerbox Palace Stamps!

I stamped Fayette and Cloud using Memento ink on Xpress paper.  Each were colored with Copics and fussy cut.  I stamped Hello Happy Dust and Fayette on the cool cardstock from Club Scrap!  I added strips of 1/8th" Scor-tape around two sides and rubbed glitter on it  The glitter, also on the wings, is from Stamping Jazzy Style (out of business, I'm sad to say).  They mixed some fabulous combinations of ultra fine glitter!

Have fun, create a project using ribbon and enter Challenge #10 for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers~G is for Glitter!   We'd love to see what you come up with!

GD for Quirky Crafts Challenge #12-Fairy Aurora

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Quirky Crafts Challenge #12 - It is a Quirky Fairy World (Recipe challenge)  We invite you to leave the real world and invent you own Fairy World. Build up your own enchanted world, using at least three of the following items from the fairy ring (and a fairy of course). We want to know your dreams!

I just found out about the Recipe party of the challenge so I only have two of the items: Sparkles and Sentiment.  During the reminder post I'll follow it, I promise.  :)  I used my favorite fairy and fairy sentiment stamps from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps, our gracious sponsor.  I colored Fairy Aurora with a Wand using Copics and attached her to a piece of purple leathery paper I bought eons ago from Provocraft.  Both the purple paper and the blue are shimmery to begin with but I thought a little bit fairy dust was needed so I covered the purple paper under Aurora with Distress Glitter.  Aurora loves her happy dust!  Check out the awesome Hello Happy Dust verse inside!

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers - Challenge #6: E is for Embellishment!

Hello All!

Welcome to our #6 Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!  Our letter is "E" as in "E" is for Embellishment (Use at least two)!!!  Time to have fun and bring out the bling, ribbon, flair, flowers, chipboard, etc!  You can choose to be snarky or not, but whatever you choose don't forget to enter for the chance to win the coveted title of "Queen of Snark"!

My card, hmmm...it's a little bit snarky.

All of the stamps are from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps!  I stamped the Frog Prince saying on shrink plastic.  Gypsy and Frog Sweetie are stamped on X-Press paper, colored with Copics, and fussy cut.  The Black Tie glitter paper is from Core'dinations.

My embellishments are the jewel earring (rhinestone), ribbon and jewel swirl.  BTW, I recycled the jewel swirl off a card I made long ago and always hated.  I finally decided to throw it out but couldn't throw out the jewel swirl.  Bling isn't cheap.  Luckily it was on a piece of glossy cardstock so I could pull it off, almost intact.  :)  Some rhinestones fell off.  :(   So, trying to make the best of things, I placed Frog Sweetie over the missing pieces.  I think it worked...his love is radiating over to his pursued love.

Visit the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for all the details and check out the awesome artwork the rest of the DT has created!

Then join in the fun for your chance to win the awesome title of "Queen of Snark" or "Princess of Snark"!  You want the crown, you know you do!  Post your "E" is for Embellishment project by 11:55 (EDT) on Friday, May 2nd to play along!

Thanks for visiting!

Q is for Queen! Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #5

It's time for the 5th Challenge at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  Our letter for this challenge is "Q": "Q" is for Queen!  What else could it be since you have the chance to win the coveted title of "Queen of Snark"!

All of the stamps I used are from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps.  I love their stamps!!!  They also have a phenomenal selection of snarky sayings!

I stamped the images on X-Press paper and then colored them with Copics.  Then I fussy cut them and fringed a small piece of green "homemade paper" to make the grass. You don't get to see Alhern's teeth since I cut one off and decided it was not going to work for me.  If I had been using a smooth background paper I would have also stamped Alhern on the paper and then you would see his teeth.  The Most Royal Ruby the Queen needed outstanding jewels of course.

Visit the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for all the details and check out the awesome artwork the rest of the DT has create!

Then join in the fun for your chance to win the awesome title of "Queen of Snark" or "Princess of Snark"!  You want the crown, you know you do!  Post your "Q" is for Queen project by 11:59 (EDT) on Friday, April 15th to play along!

Whooo's Ready 4 School?

Hi Everyone!

I've made a back to school card with a wise old owl!  The Owl stamp from Dilly Beans was colored using Copics on X-press paper.   The branch is made from a piece of chipboard which was covered by the brown textured "paper".   The brown and orange textured "paper" are from Provo Craft.  I've had this a long time.  It is a very flexible textured "paper" which I have used as covers on accordion books  The font is School House Printed A which is a free font (the only kind I have).

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Beach Dreams

Hi All!

I'm here today with my first card as a Designated Designer for Drunken Stampers!  Our theme is Place: A Beach [Use water, a beach, or the tropics as your theme.]
The challenge runs from August 10th -16th!  Have a few drinks [alcohol or not] and make sure to link your entry at the Drunken Stampers Blog.

The stamp I used is a retired stamp [Summer by the Sea] from Stampin' Up.  I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Copic X-press paper two times and colored the images with Copic markers.  The women's hair, shirt, and man's arm/leg were colored on the first one.  The man pants and hair were colored on the second image.  I stamped the man' s shirt again, on patterned paper.  All of these images were fussy cut...the entire first image, the man, except his arm/leg on the second, lastly the shirt.

The background was watercolor paper which had been colored with Tim Holtz Distress Stains [Chipped Sapphire and Broken China] and then distressed around the edge with Broken China Distress Ink. Two pieces of 100 grit sandpaper [I think it really looks like sand] were torn and distressed...and the first piece was attached to the background.  The complete image was added on the sandpaper and the second piece of sandpaper was placed over to cover part of the man's foot.  The 2nd image...man's pants, shirt and hair were placed over the first.  The last piece added was the shirt.  [I didn't like that the shirt was higher than the man's hair so I stamped and colored another head and added on top of the other one.]  The word Dream [from my stash] was distressed and stapled, using the Tiny Attacher, to the background.  Next time, I'll hopefully remember to take photos of the steps when needed...it would have helped here.

I hope you enjoy all the Designated Designers' cards and have a Tropical Hooter on us!

Have a fantastic week,
Team Tropical Hooters

With Flowers in Her Hair

When I saw the {Pin}spiration Challenge photo I knew I had to make a card.  I had picked up this Going Somewhere Girl AlishBA digital stamp from Octopode Factory before and thought it would be perfect for this and my friend's daughter's 16th birthday card!  I loved the purples in the photo and she loves purple too!  Variations of purple were added using Copics.  I love Copics and am trying to expand my abilities...not there yet.

I added more bling than I have ever added on a card.  I knew she needed flowers in her hair and was glad to see the rhinestones worked!  I added a few more to make leaves, buttons on her shoes, and the center of the bow.  I picked this background paper because I felt the dots mimic the bubbles in the photo.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
