Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper's Challenge #11: S is for Steampunk!

Hello All!

Challenge #11: S is for Steampunk!

Edna is the Steampunkiest, isn't she?

I decided to alter a composition notebook for our Steampunk Challenge.  I bought quite a few of these after Target clearanced out their Back To School items.  My daughter tells me I'll have to get rid of them if I don't use them soon.  Did I forget to tell you I bought them about four years ago.  She says I ought to use them or not buy them!  Now she wants me donate them....obviously, she is not a crafter!  Shhhh, don't tell her that the Graphic 45 paper and the eyelets are at least that old too!

I attached the Graphic 45 Communique paper to the notebook by spreading a quick dry tacky glue in an extremely thin layer over the entire cover (ModPodge works also).  Most glues contain too much water making your papers wrinkle.  After I trimmed the little bit paper overhang so it was flush with edges of the notebook, I sanded and distressed the edges with Vintage photo ink.

I used Kraft-Core Notalgic Core'dinations cardstock with the Tim Holtz Texture Fades-(Blueprints and Pocket Watches) and sanded them to bring out the kraft colored core.  All of the elements, except the man stamp were sanded on their edges and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The Tim Holtz Time Travelers man was stamped on some map DP I had in my stash.

All other images are from the Graphics Fairy.  They have tons of free vintage images to use!  I fussy cut the cat and the hand.  I used pop dots on the cat and fingers of the hand.  Glossy Accents were used to accent the bulb and cat eyes.  The free font I used for the snarky Steampunk saying is Ornatique.

Have fun, create a Steampunk project, and enter Challenge #11 for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers~S is for Steampunk!   We'd love to see what you come up with!

Thinking of You with Dryer Sheet Flowers

Hi Everyone!

I'm sure by now you realize I am a Snarky Sister!  Well the Sisters got together and talked...We. Like. To. Talk., and decided we had to find some people and have a blast!  We thought let's party with Just Us Girls!  By the way, with that acronym,  J.U.G.s, we new we were going to have an  awesome time!!

This is the first card I made with die-cut flowers from dryer sheets.  I have tried other dryer sheets techniques, but this one was a little more difficult than I had expected.  There were a few different shim trials before I had the flowers cut out completely.  This might be due to the small size of the Tattered Flowers or because of the composition of used dryer sheets.  I tried unused dryer sheets and although they cut out easier, I didn't like the stiff texture.

Prior to cutting, I painted the dryer sheets with Tim Holtz Distress Paints.  The card base is from Stampin' Up and the DP is from the Daphne's Closet Collection by Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #8. "C" is for Crap!

Hello all and welcome to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #8 - "C" is for Crap!  Crap, you know, those things you bought with good intentions to use, but never did.  Or the fantastic items you bought years ago which are now woefully out-of-date.  These are the perfect items to use for our challenge!

I bought Micro Beads years ago to embellish my cards and not just one bag, but quite a few.  I was going to create awesomeness...that is if I had ever used them!

To use the Micro Beads I put wide Scor Tape on a piece of cardboard and ran it through my Cuttlebug using Tim Holtz's Caged Bird Die.  I peeled off the covering, poured the beads over it, and pressed to secure them on the tape.  The Core'dination cardstock background was dry embossed, sanded, and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The bird was die cut, sanded, and colored with Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  The crown and missing you sentiment stamps are from Tim Holtz.

Dig into your supplies, find something you wonder "Why the heck did I buy this crap", and create.  We'd love to see what you come up with.  You have until Friday, May 30th, at 11:55 pm EDT to enter at SoSS for the coveted title of Queen of Snark!  You know you want to win it!

Father's Day

Hi All!

This card was made with two sets of Tim Holtz stamps: The  Man and the Gears are from Time Travelers by Brett Weldele and the ticket stamp is from the Going Somewhere set.  I stamped the man on patterned paper and fussy cut it.  The patterned paper had a white background on which I used Distress Inks and stamped the gears.  I also distressed the two stickers with ink.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Clear It Out Challenge  Theme: Boys/Men  Stash: Stickers-Adventure and Exhibit

Happy Birthday Card-Drunken Stampers: Anything Goes!

Hi All!

We're back......!  I bet you thought you got rid of us.  Well, no, we're back after a month break with the first of the Drunken Stampers challenges of the year.  Our Challenge #157 is Anything Goes!  Have fun designing whatever you want and become our next Life of the Party!

I designed this birthday card for a friend...she likes traditional cards and I felt the cupcake out of the Birthday Blueprint stamp set from Tim Holtz was the way to go!  Black Core'dination's card stock was dry embossed and sanded.  I used Distress Stains to color the watercolor paper.  I then stamped the cupcake twice, fussy cut the frosting, and colored it with Copics.  It was embellished with some Stickles  - Orange Peel, Yellow, and Distress Rock Candy, ribbon, and jewels.

I hope you enjoyed this card.  Don't forget to enter the Drunken Stampers Anything Goes - Challenge #157 You have until 11:59 PST on Friday, February 7th to post your project and vie for the title of The Life of the Party!  We're always looking for someone to drink with us!

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Drunken Stampers Challenge Thing: New Year's Day

Hello All and Happy New Year!

This week Drunken Stampers challenge features a thing: New Years Day!  (Drinks or resolutions or whatever inspires you about the new year)

One of my resolutions is to takes some risks so I am able to discover more of who I am.  The Tim Holtz stamp in the Urban Tapestry set is a perfect mantra for me to repeat so I continue to focus on my resolution through out the year.

I stamped the verse and the Tim Holtz Framelits Retro Christmas star using Versamark and Zing! Aqua Opaque Finish Embossing powder on Club Scrap Silver paper.  The stars were then die cut.  I used the sunburst folder out of the three pack of Playing Games Texture Fades set using Core'dinations Black Magic cardstock.

Celebrate with us by making a card/project for the Drunken Stampers challenge: New Years Day!  (Drinks or resolutions or whatever inspires you about the new year)! You could be our next Life of the Party!  Projects need to be uploaded by 11:59 pm PST on Friday January 10th for this challenge. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
