Dr. Seuss Canvas

This is the second canvas I've made for my great-niece and great-nephew.  Love Dr. Seuss quotes!!

As I make more canvas art I hope I will start to feel free enough to start experimenting with mixed media art.  It is had to let go and risk it, but as I have found, you can just add more paint and cover up what you do not like.

I used gesso, a variety of acrylic paints, white card stock edged with Tim Holtz Chipped Sapphire Distress Stain, and covered with Mod Podge.  The Mod Podge is water-based and allows the distress stain to tint the card stock a bit.  The Mod Podge I used was the glossy finish...I have a gallon of it!?!  When I do another canvas I would cover it with the Matte finish.  The font I used, "For The One Hundredth Time",  is free and available for download at  It is such a fun font to use!

10 Minute Craft Dash #11

I'm entering this in the 10 Minute Craft Dash #11.  The challenge is to feature Hearts.  The paper and stencil are from Club Scrap.  I used purples, black, and silver since I like to bring is different colors when making Valentines.  It took me 7 minutes 38 seconds to make the card.

Another Runway Inspired Challenge

Here is my second entry into the Runway Inspired Challenge.  This challenge, #24 is to make a card using the photo below as a inspiration.
