Christmas in July

Hi!
So many blogs were writing about Christmas in July, so I decided to join in a few of the card challenges.  The stamp is the Merry Christmas Tree from Bugaboo Stamps.  I used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder from the Winter Wonderland Set and Christmas Red Stickles for the ornaments. The stars, Merry Christmas, and garland were accented with a Sakura Clear Star Gelly Roll pen.

Happy Day!

Hi All!

I made this card using the Present stamp from the Tim Holtz CMS154 Mini Blueprints 4 Set.  The pink and green pearl-like cardstock was cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Die-Peony (two largest).  This die is no longer being sold seperately but rather in the Nesties Flower B Nestabilities Set.  I used Waterfall Stickles to highlight circles in the patterned paper.

Hold Onto Your Brains!

Hi All!
I'm entering a darker side.  I don't follow the Walking Dead, nor am I getting ready for the Zombie Apocalypse.  But I do have a number of acquaintances who are preparing for that day!  I am entering a few challenges which this card is made for.  I took the Edward Scissorshands digital stamp from the Octopode Factory and morphed him into a zombie.  I colored with Copics, added Black Diamond Stickles for his hair, used Crystal Stickles for accents on his clothes, and then fussy cut him.

The background was made with Tim Holtz Distress Stains on watercolor paper.  After it dried I covered it with glue and sprinkled Distress Stickles Dry Glitter-Rock Candy all over it.  I added some washi tape to the background.  I stamped "Got Brains?" using Close to My Heart Delightful Alphabet (retired).  For those of you who don't know; zombies eat brains!

Zombies have difficulty holding themselves together so mine has a screw as a replacement eye.  His other eye is red and falling out.  I think he'd scare anyone.

Delightful Daisies

Back again!  I've avoiding doing work around the house since it is so hot, over 95 in Southern Wisconsin.  Instead I've been quite messy making cards.  The Daisy stamp is from Stampin' Up and the sentiment is from Tim Holtz.  Daisies remind me of warm (not hot!) summertime days, walking through my perennial garden.  I miss it so much!  The embossing folder is Square Lattice from Stampin' Up.  I added Yellow Stickles and Dew Drops as embellishments.

Life Lesson

When I went into Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps one day, quite awhile ago, I saw this Loved and Lost stamp.  I laughed out loud and had to purchase it, even though I wasn't sure how I'd use it at first.  I've used it for Happy Divorce parties making cards and coasters as gifts.  They are a hit.

The Sea Breeze stamp was one I used for birthdays, thinking of you, sympathy, etc.  I wish I lived near the sea on these very hot days!  One day It dawned on me that Sea Breeze was the perfect stamp to use with the Loved and Lost stamp.  People look at it expecting it to be a sentimental card, but after they read it they realize it's a "touch" sarcastic!

He's Mad, Mad, Mad!!!

I had so much fun making the Mad Hatter ATC, so I made another one!  I used Distress Stains on watercolor paper for the background and strip.  Rock Candy Distress Dry Glitter was put on the green strip.  I printed the Mad Hatter from Octopode Factory and then colored him with Copics.  Tim Holtz Tissue Tape was used for the word MAD and the hands pointing at him.

With Flowers in Her Hair

When I saw the {Pin}spiration Challenge photo I knew I had to make a card.  I had picked up this Going Somewhere Girl AlishBA digital stamp from Octopode Factory before and thought it would be perfect for this and my friend's daughter's 16th birthday card!  I loved the purples in the photo and she loves purple too!  Variations of purple were added using Copics.  I love Copics and am trying to expand my abilities...not there yet.

I added more bling than I have ever added on a card.  I knew she needed flowers in her hair and was glad to see the rhinestones worked!  I added a few more to make leaves, buttons on her shoes, and the center of the bow.  I picked this background paper because I felt the dots mimic the bubbles in the photo.

Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter ATC

Hi!  I've made my first Artist Trading Card in a long time!  We used to have a group making ATC's for trade every month.  It was so much fun!  I decided to enter Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge to play with this smaller surface.  For those of you who do not know, an Artist Trading Card is the same size as a playing card-2.5 x 3.5 inches.

I started out with a piece of watercolor paper in the correct size.  I blended Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Seedless Preserves, Salty Ocean, and Antique Bronze.   I printed out the Mad Hatter digital stamp from the Octopode Factory at 16 per the page on XPress paper.  I'm beginning to like digital stamps as long as they have a lot of detail.

I colored the Mad Hatter with Copics and spread some Golden Rod Stickles over his hat and Orange Peel on his shoes.  I had the perfect matching ribbon in my stash and had to add it along with crystals on his hat pins.  I printed out the saying in Treasure Map Dead Hand (free font-forgot where I got it) and outlined it. The saying is part of the quote the Mad Hatter says to Alice.

I based my coloring on the model of Johnny Depp's version made by Disney.  This picture is a trademarked item, but I am not using this for sale, so I hope this is okay to display.

Time for Tequilla and Salt!

Hi, I'm back with another Neon card.  I used Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps again...I love their stamps! I cut strips of a variety of Lawn Fawn Pink Lemonade paper and adhered them on top of bright pink cardstock.  I then mounted that on a green card.  I stamped the Margarita Glass, Shaker, and The Life Gives You stamps on BoBunny Country Garden Vines paper.  I fussy cut the images, added Glossy Accents to the Shaker, and Stickles (Yellow, Silver, and Frosted Lace) to both.  I also used Yellow Stickles to accent the word Lemons.  I really want a to sip a Margarita on the porch enjoying the beautiful summer weather right now.

Love the Nights!

Hello!
I'm featuring some stamps from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps!  They are Party Frog and Love the Nights.  Crackerbox Palace has some funny frog stamps and sayings...check them out!  I colored the frog with Copic markers and mounted it on decorative neon paper and neon green cardstock.  I then added a few Dew Drops from The Robin's Nest.

Fairy Flora Sprinkles Her Happy Dust!

Hi All!  I hope you are all having a Happy Fourth of July!  Lovely weather here in Wisconsin...a little chilly, but so much better than last year's 104 degrees!

Fairy Flora is a delightful stamp from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps.  The Happy Dust Saying and Fairy Dust Bag are also theirs.  I absolutely love their stamps, but these two always make me laugh.  The sentiment, along with Fairy Flora are my favorite funny stamps!
I stamped the background stamp of Flora with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on watercolor paper (I love stamping on it) and then stamped her again on watercolor paper and colored her with Copics.  I fuzzy cut her (dress, head and wings) and and attached her on top of her other image.   I added bakers twine around the edge attaching it with star brads.  I added Golden Rod Stickles to her crown, cuffs, necklace, and wand.  I used Diamond Stickles on the Fairy Dust Bag, top/bottom/dots of the sentiment and and the blue Card Candy.  I'm showing a close-up of the Fairy Dust Bag as the reflection made it unable to be seen in the card photo.  Adding the Diamond Stickles changed the Blue Card Candy into an aqua-like color.  It's a little difficult to see in the card so I added this picture.
