Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge # 49 X is for Xmas

Hi Everyone!

Doesn't Edna look lovely in her holiday regale!  If I had realized she was Mrs. Claus I might have been a little less naughty...oh well.  Hopefully Santa understands.  Let's get on with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge, #49, X is for Xmas.

I'm in Southern Wisconsin, hoping for a white Christmas, but it doesn't appear to be possible.  Our one and only accumulation snow was fourteen inches; all of that is gone.  I don't want a huge amount...maybe an inch or two.

I used my favorite snowman stamp, Frosty Fun...he so adorable. Frosty, and the rest of the items I used are from Fun Stampers Journey.  I used the Bubble, Bubble Stencil with Pool Play True Color Fusion Ink on both the Pool Play And Whip Cream CS.  Silver Splash was used on the Black Licorice frame for the Snapshot Frames die set. Let it Snow and the snowflakes were stamped in Whip Cream ink are from the Snowflake Burst Stamps.  The snowflakes were cut from the matching die set.  Frosty was colored with Copics and his shadows were sprinkled with Journey Sparkle Dust.  These items can be found on my site at funstampersjourney.com/karens

Challenge #49 ends on Christmas Day at 11:55 pm EDT

We'd love to see your creations

Sisterhood of Snarky Sisters Challenge #44 ~ B is for Boobs!

Hi All!

Maybe you've noticed that Edna is looking a little perkier than usual.  It's probably just the pink background...it brings out her best assets.  The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #44 is B is for Boobs in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Sister Chris and I must have been on the same wavelength since our cards are so similar.  Hers was done first, but I didn't see it before I made mine.  If I had I might have used some of the same accentuating features as hers!

I decided to show my card using two different sayings...one is nice, the other snarky.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Make sure to schedule your mammogram soon!

Have you ever wondered why letters are used to define bra sizes?
A=Almost boobs
B=Barely there
C=Can’t complain
D= Damn!
DD=Double damn
E=Enormous
F=Fake
G=Get a reduction
H=Help me, I’ve fallen!

Challenge #44 ends on Friday, October 16th at 11:55 pm EDT

We'd love to see your B is for Boobs creation!

Don't miss your chance to win the title of Queen or Princess of Snark...

The stamps, Chocolate Farts, Chocolate StrawberryRound Candy, and Square Candy are from Crackerbox Palace Rubber Stamps. The "chocolate" was made using Liquid Appliqué. I just let it dry naturally rather than using a heat gun, which will puff it up.

SoSS Challenge # 39: S is for Shaker

Welcome to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge # 39: S is for Shaker!  This one was a real challenge for me.  I had never made a shaker card before and wasn't sure what I was doing.  It might have been easier if I found the foam tape I bought years ago when shaker cards were first popular.  I made this shaker by die-cutting and stacking a lot of hearts.  Gluing each layer was one thing, lining up the ampersand cardstock another, but gluing the acetate was insane.  I kept getting glue on the acetate...five tries before I didn't mess it up too much.  But after all of this, I'm betting once I find my foam tape, I'll try making a shaker card again.

I made this card for a friend's wedding based on her colors of pink, green and silver.  I decided to made the heart green so it would pop.  All of the products are from Fun Stampers Journey and you can get them on my site:

Dies: Heart-Felt die ~ DI-0033
Stamps: Ampersand Notes ~ SS-0137
Cardstock: Watermelon Fusion, Bubble Gum, and Kiwi Slice

Watch Templeton Fly!! SoSS Challenge # 38 ~ R is for Rude

Hello All!
It's a new challenge for us, over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~ Challenge #38: R is for Rude or AKA, The New Profanity Challenge.

Check out Edna...her mouth is closed, but look what she's thinking!  If you don't use profanity, here's your chance to share some of the thoughts you'd might like to scream at times.  Your creation can be just rude to allover profane...you choose!

I had a little trouble with this challenge...there was this perfect stamp I had and I just couldn't find it!  #$$@@##$%%@$%&$#&@#$#$!!!!

While digging through my bazillion stamps I came upon this one, by Gary Patterson, from a long, long, time ago.   I feel it works when I add a little narration.  The free font I used is Junior and Stinky.

Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #35: V is for Vellum

Edna looks a little blurry today.  Maybe she needs new glasses...or they could just need cleaning.  Well although that still could be true, she's actually sporting vellum today.  The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #35 is V is for Vellum!  Well after searching throughout a paper store (the one in my spare bedroom) I didn't find any vellum.  So I went to my local stamp store, Crackerbox Palace, and found a variety...thanks Vicky!  I should have just gone to you first!

I disassembled a tiny paper bag and used it to cut and score the green polka dot vellum.  I used a stamp I bought a long time ago.  It's Rocks from River City Rubber Works.  I had to have it being the rock hound I am.  The bag is filled with rocks...I had to strengthen the bottom of the bag!  These are only a few rocks in my ever-growing collection.  I have always collected rocks...everyone should collect some.  There is a great children's book called Everybody Needs a Rock.  It doesn't talk about collecting rocks, but about you finding your perfect rock.  Check it out!

Challenge #35 ends on Friday, June 4th, at 11:55 pm EDT
