SoSS Challenge # 39: S is for Shaker

Welcome to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge # 39: S is for Shaker!  This one was a real challenge for me.  I had never made a shaker card before and wasn't sure what I was doing.  It might have been easier if I found the foam tape I bought years ago when shaker cards were first popular.  I made this shaker by die-cutting and stacking a lot of hearts.  Gluing each layer was one thing, lining up the ampersand cardstock another, but gluing the acetate was insane.  I kept getting glue on the acetate...five tries before I didn't mess it up too much.  But after all of this, I'm betting once I find my foam tape, I'll try making a shaker card again.

I made this card for a friend's wedding based on her colors of pink, green and silver.  I decided to made the heart green so it would pop.  All of the products are from Fun Stampers Journey and you can get them on my site:

  1. Super shaker card, perfect for your friend's wedding! I love the pin, green and silver together!
If it makes you feel any better...I couldn't find my foam tape either and got glue all over the acetate...***sigh*** the things we do for the sisterhood LOL

  2. It's a beautiful wedding card! It was my first shaker card as well... I _might_ do another one someday, MAYBE... :D

  3. Fabulous wedding card, Awesome job for your first shaker card. I cut a star in fun foam for the shaker layer although foam mounting tape might have been easier.

  4. Sweet card and good call on the green heart. The colors remind me of springy tulip time. I bet your loves her coordinating card!

  5. What an original and COOL take on a shaker card! I just LOVE what you created!

  6. Seriously perfect for your very first! I always use double-sided tape for the acetate for the exact reason you mentioned - all my swear words if I use glue, lol!
