Welcome to the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers
Challenge #11: S is for Steampunk!
Edna is the Steampunkiest, isn't she?
I decided to alter a composition notebook for our Steampunk Challenge. I bought quite a few of these after Target clearanced out their Back To School items. My daughter tells me I'll have to get rid of them if I don't use them soon. Did I forget to tell you I bought them about four years ago. She says I ought to use them or not buy them! Now she wants me donate them....obviously, she is not a crafter! Shhhh, don't tell her that the Graphic 45 paper and the eyelets are at least that old too!
I attached the Graphic 45 Communique paper to the notebook by spreading a quick dry tacky glue in an extremely thin layer over the entire cover (ModPodge works also). Most glues contain too much water making your papers wrinkle. After I trimmed the little bit paper overhang so it was flush with edges of the notebook, I sanded and distressed the edges with Vintage photo ink.
I used Kraft-Core Notalgic Core'dinations cardstock with the Tim Holtz Texture Fades-(Blueprints and Pocket Watches) and sanded them to bring out the kraft colored core. All of the elements, except the man stamp were sanded on their edges and distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The Tim Holtz Time Travelers man was stamped on some map DP I had in my stash.
All other images are from the Graphics Fairy. They have tons of free vintage images to use! I fussy cut the cat and the hand. I used pop dots on the cat and fingers of the hand. Glossy Accents were used to accent the bulb and cat eyes. The free font I used for the snarky Steampunk saying is Ornatique.
